Article on Web 2.0

I found an article discussing employers and web 2.0. The article is written by Tom Starner for Human Resource Executive Online. The article disccuses how valuable web 2.0 tools and social networking is to businesses and their employees. According to a survey, three-quartes of the companies reported use of web 2.0 in daily activities. They have also seen great benefits to their business. Starner writes: "Those benefits include more innovative products and services, more effective marketing, better access to knowledge, lower costs of doing business and higher revenues." One company discusses the watercooler concept and web 2.0 and how employees use this "watercooler" to various topics. I definitely agree with the money saving solutions for companies using web 2.0 tools. For example the classic newsletter costs a lot for design (if no designers on staff), editing, copy writing, printing and to mail. If a company produces the newsletter electronically only it saves a great deal of money and would probably pay less then half the cost.
